As a teenager Martin worked with his Dad at weekends painting and decorating. Martin had a real talent for this and took great pride in his work. Martin moved into demolition work. Martin joined the Army, which he loved so much and again excelled in his duties. After leaving the Army Martin became an articulated lorry driver which he also enjoyed. Due to ill health Martin could no longer continue to drive and went back to painting & decorating.
